Recipe instructions Fried Mozzarella Cheese Sticks

1

Place three wide and deep containers one behind the other. Fill the first bowl with flour. In the second bowl, mix the eggs and water using a fork. Put breadcrumbs in the third bowl.

2

For the breadcrumb mixture, combine the Italian breadcrumbs with the grated parmesan, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.

3

Dredge each string cheese stick in flour, fully coating it on all sides.

4

Dip each stick in the egg mixture, letting the excess drip off.

5

Then, roll each stick in the breadcrumb mixture, fully coating it on all sides.

6

Dip each stick again in the egg mixture, and then roll again the breadcrumbs.

7

Transfer the sticks to a lined baking sheet.

8

Freeze the sticks for 20-30 minutes.

9

Heat the oil in a large Dutch oven until it reaches 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).

10

Drop 4-5 breaded sticks into the oil and fry for about 20 seconds until the breading is crispy and golden brown.

11

Transfer the mozzarella sticks to a plate or sheet pan lined with paper towel.

12

Serve immediately with marinara sauce.

Make sure the cheese is well-coated with breadcrumbs to avoid blowouts. Do not skip freezing the mozzarella sticks before frying! Store mozzarella sticks in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
