Recipe instructions Fried Cheese

1

Prepare a small baking sheet or plate with parchment paper. Mix the flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a small bowl. Beat the eggs until smooth in a second bowl. Add the panko to a third bowl.

2

Cut the cheese into 1-inch pieces. Working with one piece at a time, dip the cheese into the flour mixture. Shake off any excess. Next, dip it into the egg mixture, coating all sides and letting the excess drip off. Lastly, gently press the cheese into the panko until it is coated on all sides. Transfer the cheese to the baking sheet and repeat the process with the remaining cheese. Place the cheese in the freezer for 30 minutes.

3

Then, line a plate with a paper towel and set it aside. In a large pot, heat 1 quart of oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 375 degrees F (190 degrees C), using a deep fry thermometer. Once the cheese is frozen, gently lower it into the hot oil in small batches. Cook the cheese until it turns golden brown, which should take approximately three minutes. Use a metal straining spoon to transfer the cheese to a plate lined with paper towels. Repeat this process with the remaining cheese.

4

Allow the cheese to cool slightly before serving it warm.
