Easy 15-Minute Miso Soup

Less than 15 minutes and you can enjoy a big, hot bowl of miso soup, just like in a restaurant, from the comfort of your own home!


  • 2 cups (473 ml) chicken stock, or vegetable stock
  • 2 cups (473 ml) water
  • 4 tablespoon (68 g) soybean paste
  • 12 ounce (340 g) packet of silken soft tofu, sliced into cubes
  • 6 small sheets of dried seaweed, cut into strips
  • salt, to taste
  • scallions for garnish, optional

  1. Step 1

    In a big pot, add chicken stock and water and bring it to a gentle boil.

  2. Step 2

    Mix the soybean paste into the water until it dissolves completely.

  3. Step 3

    Allow it to simmer for 5 minutes and then add the sliced tofu. Simmer for another 5 minutes, then add in seaweed strips and salt to your liking.

  4. Step 4

    Finally, divide into soup bowls evenly and top with scallions, if you wish.
